Jack Barnett, for several months acting general secretary of the World Jewish Congress, has been appointed general secretary. Born in Ireland, the 40-year-old secretary has served the WJC for the past 15 years.
He was a Liberal candidate for Parliament in the 1964 and 1966 general elections and is a member of the Liberal Party’s advisory committee on immigration.
