Five Orthodox rabbinical organizations today adopted a joint resolution condemning the participation by Jewish groups in “ecumenical” programs along with Christian religious organizations. The Orthodox rabbinical groups specifically “denounced” the participation of the Synagogue Council of America in a conference in Boston next May with Catholic and Protestant religious leaders.

The resolution, which was presented at a meeting at Mesivta Tifereth Jerusalem, an Orthodox rabbinical seminary, was approved by: the Union of Orthodox Rabbis of the United States and Canada; the Union of Grand Rabbis; the Rabbinical Alliance of America; the Rabbinical Board of Greater New York; and the Metropolitan Board of Orthodox Rabbis.
