Funeral services were held here today for Samuel Eichelbaum, noted Argentine Jewish playwright, who died at the age of 72. He was considered the dean of Argentine dramatists. Born in Dominguez, a Jewish Colonization Association settlement in Entre Rios Province, Mr. Eichelbaum received many national and local awards for his plays which dealt with contemporary Argentine life. Among his plays was one on a Jewish theme. “Tranquility in the Village,” which dealt with the struggles by early pioneering Jewish colonists.
