New York Mayor Presents Israeli Nobel Prize Winner with City Medallion

In a ceremony at City Hall yesterday, Mayor Lindsay presented Israeli Nobel Prize winning novelist Shmuel Yosef Agnon with the City’s Medallion for Distinguished Service. Among those present at the ceremonies were Michael Arnon, Israel’s Consul General, Nathaniel Goldstein, president of the American Friends of the Hebrew University; Alex Rose, president of United Hatters, Cap and Millinery Workers; and Rabbi Edward T. Sandrow, president of the New York Board of Rabbis.
