A former SS captain, Rudolf Scheerer, 59, was sentenced yesterday in a Rottweil court to 30 months’ imprisonment for participation in the wartime killing of more than 200 Russian Jews.

A Baden-Baden court was asked by the prosecution yesterday to impose a life sentence on Helmut Reinhard, 55, wartime Gestapo head in occupied Norway. He was accused of aiding in the deportation of 532 Norwegian Jews to the Auschwitz death camp and with aiding the execution of four Norwegians.
