A similar statement is now in preparation in Buenos Aires, to be signed by prominent Argentine Arab and Jewish personalities.
In San Rafael, in Mendoza province, during a patriotic ceremony, the mayor asked a leader of the Jewish community and a prominent Arab citizen to join together in raising the Argentine flag.
The Arab communities in Argentina have been subjected to a heavy anti-Jewish and anti-Israel propaganda barrage directed by the Arab legations and consulates here. Members of the Argentine Arab community were accused at various times of collaborating with the anti-Semitic Argentine neo-Nazi organizations.
