Leading Orthodox Rabbis from U.s., Britain and Israel Hold Conference in Jerusalem

Leading Orthodox rabbis from Israel, the United States and Britain concluded a two day conference here today, designed to promote the solidarity of the Jewish religious forces around the world, examine common spiritual problems and discuss the possibility of Israeli-Diaspora coordination in the religious field.

Sponsored by Yeshiva University of New York, the conference included the participation, among others, of Prof. S.K. Mirsky, of Yeshiva University; Rabbi Immanuel Jakobovits, chief rabbi of the British Commonwealth; and Israel’s two chief rabbis representing the Sephardic and Ashkenazic communities.

Meanwhile, it was announced here today that Israel’s Beth Din. the Chief Rabbinate’s appeals court, will be moved from its present headquarters in Jerusalem to the Old City. The new headquarters will be set up in a building near the Western Wall.
