Israeli officials said today that salaries paid to Arab civil servants and workers in Israeli-occupied areas will be increased substantially to equalize salary standards with those of Israelis.
Payments will be raised 20 percent in the West Bank area, 25 percent in the Syrian Golan Heights and 30 percent in the Gaza Strip and northern Sinai Peninsula area.
