President Nasser of Egypt and President Youssef Zayyen of Syria conferred in Cairo today and later issued a joint announcement that a conference of “popular forces of the Arab world” would meet to unify Arab action against Israel. No date was set. Zayyen will fly from Cairo to Algiers to meet on the new situation with Algerian President Boumedienne, who is the chief proponent of a “war of national liberation” against Israel.
