A permanent Judaic Studies section to focus on the study of Judaism as a religious tradition will be established at the next convention of the American Academy of Religion to be held in Dallas, Texas, next October, Prof. Jacob Neusner, vice-president and program chairman of the Academy, disclosed today. The Academy was founded in 1963 as a successor to the National Association of Biblical Instructors, dating back to 1909. Its members are professors of religion and related studies in American colleges and universities. divinity schools and seminaries.
