The streets of Gaza were deserted this morning and shops and cafes remained closed under a strict curfew as Israeli security units began a house-to-house search to flush out terrorists responsible for recent grenade throwing and mining incidents in the town and its environs.
Israeli authorities appeared determined to maintain the curfew until the terrorists were found. The Military Governor’s office made arrangements to keep the residents supplied with adequate food and services should the curfew last for more than a day or two. The search began in the western suburbs of Gaza.
