Senator Ernest Gruening, Alaska Democrat, called for a letter-writing campaign urging President Johnson and Congress to “write a mutual security treaty with Israel and to give, not sell, arms to Israel.” Speaking before the annual meeting of the Southwest Pacific Region of the Zionist Organization of America, Sen. Gruening also told letter-writers to urge the Administration to “stand by Israel’s determination not to give up one inch of land until the Arabs consent to peace negotiations.”

Three new districts were added to the ZOA’s Southwest Pacific Region. They include groups in Long Beach, Palm Springs and the statewide organization, the Maccabi.
