Rep. Herbert Tenzer, New York Democrat and an Orthodox Jew active in many Jewish philanthropies and activities, announced today that he would not seek a third term in the House. Rep. Tenzer, 52, was the first Democrat ever elected from New York’s Fifth District in Nassau County. He said he was leaving Congress to devote more time to his family.
