Egypt announced today that a five-year Arab boycott of the American Studebaker automobile firm had been ended following the company’s pledge to terminate all licensing and distribution arrangements with Kaiser-Frazer of Israel, Ltd. A report from Cairo said that Studebaker’s “capitulation” to the Arabs had been disclosed by Brig. Mustafa Halim, Egyptian regional boycott director. He said the U.S. company had submitted documents proving that agreements involving the State of Israel had been liquidated.

(Israeli sources disclosed that the Kaiser-Frazer operation in Israel in which Studebaker Larks were built there under Studebaker license was suspended two years ago when the Israeli-American firm discontinued building the Studebaker vehicle.)
