A Brazilian of Arab origin is being held in the shooting of a Jewish ritual slaughterer and cantor in Curitiba, the provincial capital of Parana state, it was reported here today. The suspect, Saaid Morched Khazol, is accused of firing three bullets into the neck of Moshe Getstein who serves the 3,000 member Jewish community of Curitiba. The shooting occurred last month, setting off a manhunt in the remote province in the southeastern corner of Brazil. Mr. Getstein was released from the hospital today with the three bullets still lodged in his neck after doctors apparently decided against operating. However, his eye-sight is endangered by the wound.
