One hundred and fourteen years of organized Jewish life in Los Angeles will be commemorated Sept. 29 when a State of California historical marker will be dedicated at the site of a Jewish burial ground granted to the Hebrew Benevolent Society in 1885, one year after its founding as the first charitable organization in the city.
