Overseas telephone calls from Israel may soon be transmitted via satellites as an alternative to the submarine cable linking Israel with France that went into operation recently, the Post Office announced today. The Post Office has leased three channels on Intelsat I which is orbiting the earth in a fixed position over the Atlantic Ocean and is used to relay trans-Atlantic calls.
