The site of the new Porat Yosef yeshiva in East Jerusalem, the only major Sephardic rabbinical seminary in Israel, was dedicated yesterday amid the rubble of the old building that was destroyed by the Jordanian Army in 1948. The dedication ceremonies were attended by Mayor Teddy Kollek of Jerusalem, Sephardic Chief Rabbi Isser Untermann and the Sephardic Chief Rabbis of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. The yeshiva has been housed in temporary quarters in West Jerusalem for the past few years.
