Israeli police and security services have detained several East Jerusalem Arabs to prevent agitation for an Arab strike on Thursday, the second anniversary of the beginning of the Six-Day War. Police have not disclosed the number of persons detained, nor if they will be charged or released after the date set for the strike. Leaflets calling for a general Arab strike Thursday were found in the old city here as well as various West Bank and Gaza Strip towns.

Meanwhile, several 80 milimeter mortar shells were fired yesterday in the direction of Shaar Hagolan and Ashdot Yaacob in the northern Beisan Valley. There were no casualties and no damage as the shells exploded in fields east of the settlement. Small arms fire bursts were noted from the East Bank in the same area, but there were no casualties, a military spokesman said.
