Rabbi Yosef Ovadia was installed yesterday as Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Tel Aviv in a solemn ceremony held at the Great Synagogue here. Israel’s Ashkenazic Chief Rabbi Isser Untermann and Minister of the Interior Moshe Shapiro were present, as was Army Chief Chaplain Shlomo Goren.
