The head of Israel’s information services criticized the country’s information and propaganda set-up yesterday and said it should be centralized in one agency responsible only to the Knesset. Israel Galili, Minister-Without-Portfolio who serves as the Government’s information chief, said propaganda activities in Israel and abroad suffer because they are presently divided between the Foreign Ministry, the Defense Ministry and the Prime Minister’s Office.

He suggested that a new central information agency should cooperate with the information services of the Jewish Agency and other organizations. He thought its functions should not be limited to the Israeli political and diplomatic sphere but should include Jewish affairs generally and in particular the situation in Russia of Soviet Jews.
