Dr. Maurice Perlzweig, who represents the World Jewish Congress as an observer at the United Nations, thanked Mexican officials here for their Government’s support for continuing the WJCongress’ non-voting observer status on the UN’s Economic and Social Council. Earlier this year the non-governmental observer states of the WJCongress and other international Jewish organizations was challenged by the Soviet Union and the Arab states.
Dr. Perlzweig met with Foreign Ministry officials and was a guest at a meeting of the Jewish Central Committee. He visited here enroute to San Jose, Costa Rica to attend a session of the Inter-American Human Rights Commission.
