Reports of a rising incidence of anti-Jewish attacks in some provincial cities during the past two weeks prompted the DAIA today to call for improved security measures for local Jewish institutions. The reports were heard at a plenary session of the DAIA, the central representative body of Argentine Jewry.
The session was addressed by the Jewish Agency treasurer, Leon Dulzin, who described the situation in Israel and the need for increased immigration and tourism. The session also heard a report on a conference of Jewish leaders with the Argentine Foreign Ministry on the situation of Jews in Soviet Russia.
