The organ of the Slovak Communist Party,”Pravda,” said that “the Arab Summit Conference at Rabat has shown that the idea of resistance to Israel based on the principle of Pan Arabism as a unifying factor was not sufficient because it relies on feudal and conservative regimes, tied to Western capitalism. Differences have deepened after the summit and progressive Arab regimes have found that they must come closer together and coordinate their activities.” The paper added, “This does not, of course, represent agreement with the extremist activity of certain groups of the Palestinian resistance to which El Fatah does not belong. Extremism no way contributes to a realistic settlement of the Middle East crisis, as is also shown by the example of Israel.”
