King Hussein inspected the battered town of Irbid in northern Jordan yesterday and told the population that their country was engaged in “a difficult war,” according to an Amman radio broadcast monitored here. The Jordanian ruler also reportedly said that his nation was not receiving sufficient aid from the other Arab states. Irbid, which is used by Jordanian Army and guerrilla artillerymen as a base for shelling Israeli settlements in the Beisan and Jordan valleys, has been hard hit by the Israel Air Force.
