The West German Government is taking stringent security measures in the wake of Tuesday’s fatal terrorist attack at Munich Airport, to protect Israel’s Foreign Minister Abba Eban when he comes here next week on an official visit. Mr. Eban’s schedule and his movements are being kept a tight secret. A Government spokesman said today that every possible measure will be taken to prevent a recurrence of the Munich attack on El Al passengers. He admitted, however, that it was “quite difficult to control civilian passenger flights.” He said West Germany’s alien entry laws would be revised in order to improve control over foreigners entering the country but doubted these measures would prove effective in the immediate future.
Meanwhile Munich hospital officials announced that Israeli actress Hanna Meron was out of danger although her condition remains “extremely serious.” Miss Meron, 46, was one of the El Al passengers injured by the Arab terrorists. All three of the latter are in custody and will be charged with murder and attempted murder, Munich police officials said today. They also said that they discounted reports that the attack was aimed against Assaf Dayan, the 24 year-old actor son of Israel’s Defense Minister Moshe Dayan, one of the El Al passengers who escaped unharmed.
