Sixty prominent Israelis have demanded that their government rescind restrictive measures against Israel’s Arab citizens because they are “a crude contravention of democratic procedures and the rights of citizens.” The appeal was made in advertisements published in several national newspapers here. Among the signatories was Prof. Shlomo Samueloff, of the Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical School, who spent three months in a Syrian prison after a TWA airliner in which he was a passenger was Hijacked to Damascus by Arab terrorists last August.
