The families of 12 Israeli school children and adults killed in the terrorist ambush of a school bus near the Lebanese border one month ago today, gathered at the cemetery to place wreaths on the graves of the victims who were buried there. All of them were from Avivim and the population of that Upper Galilee town and members of neighboring settlements attended the unveiling of a monument with twelve torches. The occasion was the ending of the “shioshim,” the traditional 30 days of mourning. The Ministry of Education has designated Friday, June 19 as a memorial day for the eight slain youngsters. Special memorial services will be held at schools all over Israel.
