Printz Criticizes Ben-gurion’s Statement That Bad Peace is Better Than Good War

Dr. Joachim Prinz, past president of the American Jewish Congress, described as “particularly objectionable” last night former Israeli Premier David Ben-Gurion’s recent statement that “a bad peace is better than a good war.” Dr. Prinz, addressing the 500 delegates to the biennial convention of the AJCongress’ Women’s Division, contended that “only a good peace is better than a good war.” Jacob Barmore, an Israeli minister to the United Nations, advised the delegates that Israel needs “palpable proof” of Egypt’s “professed desire” for peace, Mrs. Howard (Jacqueline) Levine of West Orange, N.J., was elected president of the Women’s Division, succeeding Mrs. Charles (Virginia) Snitow.
