Jewish leaders here openly deplored today the bombing early this morning that damaged the Soviet Mission, shattered windows and injured four persons, including a child. Chief Rabbi Aaron Schuster declared: “If the culprits were Jews they have done a disservice to their Jewish brethren in the USSR.” A note in English found in the building after the explosion reportedly read: “Never again. Let my people go.” Prime Minister Petrus J.S. De Jong called the bombing “a horrible affair.” The Foreign Minister, Dr. Joseph Luns, promised the Soviet Embassy full compensation for the damage. The police have posted guards outside all Soviet installations here and in The Hague. A taxi driver here reported seeing three men fleeing the scene of the blast just before it occurred.
