A Hebrew University botanist, using a method practiced by the Israelites over 3,000 years ago and later by the Nabateans and Byrantines, has proven that bountiful crops can be grown in the arid reaches of the Negev. The University announced today that Prof. Michael Evnari will head a desert farm project at Wadi Mashmash which will serve as an international training and information center for arid soil farming.
