The Zeev Grodecki American House, a multi-storeyed building which houses the offices of the Israeli-American Chamber of Commerce and other American groups, was dedicated here today. Rabbi Shlomo Goren, Tel Aviv’s Chief Rabbi, made it official by affixing a mezuza to the building’s main door. Those attending the inauguration ceremony at the new civic center in northern Tel Aviv were addressed by U.S. Ambassador Walworth Barbour. Israeli Finance Minister Pinhas Sapir, and Dr. John Hanna, head of the U.S. Agency for International Development. Hanns said Israel is a “model” for the application of aid money. Sapir said that Israel ranks eleventh on the U.S.’s exporting list. Zeev Grodecki, after whom American House is named, is the late chairman of the Israeli-American Chamber of Commerce. He initiated the idea of the House.
