Download PDF for this date

President Georges Pompidou expressed hope today that Franco-Libyan relations would continue to grow and pass from the field of military cooperation to that of normal economic ties. The French President made the statement when the new Libyan Ambassador, Kadri El Attache, presented his credentials at the Elysee Palace. Pompidou stressed that some economic ties between the two countries already exist. He mentioned television broadcasts (Libya using the French system) and irrigation projects.
