The first factory ever established in a Druze village was officially inaugurated at Daliyat el Carmel on the crest of Mr. Carmel. A branch of the Gibor Textile Enterprise, is expected to employ about 250 local workers, mainly women, to produce hosiery. The parent company has invested $7000, in a day-care center for the employes’ children and announced plans for three more plants at “minorities” villages. The new factory has been named for the late Sgt.Lutfi Nasser Edin, a Druze member of the Israel Army who was killed in action. The Druze are a non-Arab Moslem sect loyal to the State of Israel.
