The 20 Jews arrested in Kiev and Wilna on Sunday when they tried to commemorate Tisha b’Av by visiting Jewish mass graves have been sentenced for “hooliganism,” Jewish sources said here today. The 10 Kiev Jews received 15-day terms, and the 10 from Wilna were offered similar terms or fines. The Kiev Jews were identified by the sources as Aron Naivelt. Isak Kleisinger, Nathan Remenik, Leichenko Velednitskaya, Edward Davidovich, Abram Zingerman, Igor Raiz, Evsei Rabinovich, Leonid Governovsky and an individual surnamed Vanseter. They were charged with resisting the police. Meanwhile, Illya Libman of Riga, who participated in the recent hunger strike in Moscow, returned there to press for an exit visa. He was detained half a day, then ordered back to Riga and was warned not to continue demanding emigration, the sources said.
