A group of 2,100 former Egyptian Jews have put in claims for property and reparations for the loss of freedom and the need to resettle elsewhere. The claims are directed at the Egyptian authorities and have been arranged by the Organization of Egyptian Jews following the World Conference of Egyptian Jews held recently in Paris. it was reported to the Israeli section of the organization at its meeting today. The meeting here has approved the resolutions adopted by the Paris convention which call for reparations and compensation and ask that all religious objects that remained in synagogues be transferred to Israel’s Minister of Religious Affairs. In Egypt, once a flourishing Jewish community of 75,000 persons, there are today only a few hundred.
