The logbooks of two Soviet warships now bear the slogan “Let My People Go” in Russian, English and Hebrew; Stars of David; and the names of many Jews and Israelis–if the commanders decide not to tamper with those documents. The two warships came to Copenhagen for a courtesy visit and the public was invited to tour the vessels. Among the Danes who accepted the Soviet invitations were Jews and Israelis who listed not only their names in the logbooks but also their protest over Soviet mistreatment of its Jewish citizens.
