An international program to raise $50 million for Technion-Israel Institute of Technology by the end of 1974–Technion’s 50th anniversary year–was adopted at a meeting here attended by representatives of Technion Societies from several countries. The funds will be utilized for “capital and long-range development of the Institute as well as endowment of academic chairs, scholarships and fellowship funds, and other academic purposes.” The meeting was called at the initiative of Evelyn de Rothschild of London, chairman of the Technion’s Board of Governors and also chairman of the British Technion Society. He stressed the need for cooperation among Technion Societies.
