Earth tremors were reported last night in northern Israel, but Israeli scientists said this morning that the tremors had nothing to do with the American underground nuclear blast last Saturday at Amchitka in the Aleutian Islands. The tremors were felt mainly at Kiryat Shemona near the Lebanese border and at the nearby Kibbutz Shamir. A slight earthquake was also felt at Bat Galim, a suburb of Haifa. No casualties or damages were reported. Residents in the kibbutzim and in houses in Haifa rushed outdoors when the tremors occurred.
