Israeli officials confirmed today that talks were in progress with France to compensate Israel for the 50 Mirage fighter planes embargoed by the late President Charles De Gaulle on the eve of the 1967 Six-Day War. Israel up to now has demanded delivery of the planes which were paid for in full and refused compensation. The officials indicated that an announcement yesterday in Paris that Israel has agreed to accept reimbursement was premature.
