Late this afternoon Egypt asked that the General Assembly’s Middle East debate, scheduled to begin tomorrow afternoon, be postponed until Friday afternoon. The request was granted, as it was Egypt that first asked for the debate. Observers said Cairo apparently wanted to learn first the outcome of the meetings tomorrow in Washington between Israeli Premier Golda Meir and President Nixon and Secretary of State William P. Rogers.
