Thousands of families in Tel Aviv and its surroundings had no challah this Sabbath because of labor troubles at the bakeries. The workers and distributors are demanding higher wages. Negotiations were scheduled to begin today. Housewives stormed the stores for non-Passover matzot, but even this was scarce because the matzot factories are in full-swing preparations for that holiday. It is thus boom time for pittah, the oriental bread.
