The Organization of Jewish Students of Mexico (ODEUJ) made a symbolic delivery of matzo “for the Jews of Minsk” to the Soviet Embassy here, but were turned away. The students wore signs reading “Let my people go.” The Central Jewish Committee of Mexico and the Mexican Committee for Soviet Jewry had a joint statement published in the press here protesting sharply against what they called the harassment of Jewish youths who tried to enter the Moscow and Kiev synagogues during Passover.
