A young Japanese passenger who aroused the suspicion of Israeli authorities, was not permitted to disembark from the Italian liner Enotria which arrived here several days ago. The passenger, Tadashi Mishimurah, of Osaka, carried a Japanese passport which listed no profession. He claimed to be touring the world but had very little money and no return ticket.
Mishimurah, who boarded the Enotria in Cyprus after visiting Egypt, speaks a little Hebrew. He said he wanted to go to a kibbutz. He also admitted leftist leanings. A guard was placed aboard the liner to prevent him from going ashore before the ship sailed.
The extra precautionary measure was taken in light of the May 30 Lydda Airport massacre by three Japanese gunmen in the service of Arab terrorists. Meanwhile passengers aboard the Greek ship Sonion, which arrived from Beirut, told newsmen that conditions seemed normal in the Lebanese capital when they were there June 5, the anniversary of the Six-Day War. The passengers said their guide told them “Lebanon wants to be neutral. We want peace with Israel. You can tell them that.”
