Twenty-one professors at the Hebrew University-Hadassah Medical School protested yesterday the imprisonment and impending trial of Soviet Jewish biologist Ilia Glezer, arrested Feb. 7 a month after applying for a visa to Israel and following confiscation of “anti-Soviet” literature found in his home. In a petition to 40 leading scientists in Europe and the United States, the professors expressed concern over the situation of the 41-year-old author of highly regarded treatises on brain research. Glezer is expected to go on trial soon.
