The Rev. Dr. Robert V. Moss, president of the United Church of Christ, today called upon the denomination’s congregations to join in prayers of mourning Sunday in memory of the slain members of the Israeli Olympic team in Munich.

He asked the church’s members to “join with Christians and Jews and all other persons of good will to uphold the sacredness of human life and to oppose the outlaws among us who seek to destroy civilization through a reign of terror.” He also called for “expressions of sympathy” to loved ones of the dead youths and to their Jewish brethren. He termed the killings “a crime against all humanity.”
