Mayor John V. Lindsay called on all New Yorkers today to join in a day of mourning tomorrow for the 11 dead Israeli athletes. In a cable to Premier Golda Meir he denounced the terrorist violence and said: “Your youth have been a symbol of strength and courage to young people everywhere. That the flower of that youth should be victims of suicidal extremists is an unspeakable tragedy.”
