Police are investigating an explosion this morning in a department store located in the 20-story Shalom Tower, Tel Aviv’s tallest building. Two persons sustained minor injuries from glass splinters and the damage was relatively slight. Police said they found traces of explosive material which indicated that the quantity of explosives detonated was small–no more than 200-250 grams. The explosives were planted against a wall in the store’s paper goods department. The blast blew a hole in the wall damaging that department and a boutique next door. The Shalom Tower houses a supermarket and hundreds of business offices.
