Gavrirel and Judith Shapiro arrived here Friday morning from Vienna with a planeload of Soviet Jewish emigrants. Shapiro said that after months of setbacks being in Israel was “a dream come true.” Mrs. Shapiro expressed thanks to American Jews “for helping us” and said that “the American press was responsible for my husband’s release.” A Jewish Agency spokesman said the Shapiros plan to stay at Bet Giora, a Jerusalem hostel, until they find permanent quarters.
