Premier Golda Meir plans a short leave from her duties, beginning Thursday, to undertake what her office described as “routine medical tests.” The 75-year-old Premier, who once retired from public life because she thought the strain on her health was too great, plans to make an announcement about her future in politics within the next week or so.
